Ben has over 25 years experience as a jazz musician, session musician, and as a composer and audio post-production specialist for film and television. Following the development of hyperacusis – an acute sensitivity to sound accompanied by pain and tinnitus, Ben tried and failed to find relief within western medicine and was unable to work during this time. On a recommendation, he visited an acupuncturist in London with treatment curing the condition in its entirety. This sparked a curiosity for Chinese medicine and acupuncture that eventually led to a change of career. Having experienced it first-hand, Ben loves nothing more than to see the power of acupuncture in the treatment of his patients in daily practice.
Ben graduated from the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM) with a First Class BSc Honours degree in acupuncture awarded by Greenwich University. He is a practitioner of Chinese medicine and the following styles of acupuncture:
• Classical Chinese Acupuncture
• Stems & Branches
• Five Element Acupuncture
• Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Ben has a specific interest in treating fertility and menstrual issues, digestive problems, migraines and auto-immune disorders. As well as working Saturdays in the Cobham Acupuncture and Reflexology Clinic, he works weekdays at his clinic, Acupuncture West London, which is based in the heart of Southfields, London.
Ben is a fully certified member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). He is also a member of the BAcC’s Student Services Advisory Group (SSAG), which provides advice and support to the Governing Board and BAcC staff on all matters relating to students at British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB) accredited courses in the UK.
